The season of gift giving is among us and with children, we all need to be careful with the purchases that are chosen. When it comes to toys and gifts, the excitement and desire to get your children their favorite toys may cause shoppers to forget about safety factors associated with them. Before you make these purchases, it is critical to remember to consider the safety and age range of the toys.

Play Safe:

  • Check toys for age warnings
  • Keep balloons away from small children
  • Avoid toys with small parts to avoid choking hazards

Keep Safe:

  • Check toys for sharp or damaged parts
  • Ensure that children wear helmets and safety gear
  • Supervise children to avoid improper use of toys that can cause injuries

Put Away Safe:

  • Make sure that toys are put away to prevent trips and falls
  • Store outside toys in a dry place to prevent rust
  • Chargers and adapters should be supervised by adults
