Photograph of a young girl laying in the grass reading a book on a spring dayThrough stories, children are exposed to a wide range of words.  This helps them build their own vocabulary and improve their understanding when they read.  Reading is an essential part of a student’s success.  The value of a book can be seen through the sparks of imagination in our children and their increased stimulation of curiosity from the text that they have read.  From June 1, 2018, to August 15, 2018, Cumberland County’s Public Libraries will sponsor Summer Reading Programs for children of all ages!  It is highly recommended that children continue to expand their minds through reading this summer!  Visit the Cumberland County’s Public Libraries site listed below or visit any of the regional libraries to find out more about this wonderful enrichment program.
