Winter Break Dec 24 – Jan 7

This Winter Break, don’t despair when your house is full of bored and bickering kids. Activities do not have to be costly to have fun.  We all want our children to have fun and to learn in the process and these activities help keep their brains going.  Try some of these fun winter-break activities to keep your children occupied and happy both indoors and out – throughout the season and even on regular days throughout the year!

  • Before new toys come into the house, do some “spring” cleaning and choose some to donate
  • Go on a scavenger hunt to find items for each letter of the alphabet
  • Read a book and then have your child rewrite it with a different ending
  • Make bird feeders for your trees outside
  • Play hide and seek
  • Take a trip to a museum
  • Explore how different cultures celebrate the holidays
  • Teach your child how to follow a recipe
  • Have a family game day
  • Make cookies and have a tea party
